Girl named ‘Y’ at the age of five was sexually abused by her neighbour. Her parents reported this case before CHILDLINE. Members of CHILDLINE interacted with the child and provided her with emotional support and guidance. The girl was produced before Child Welfare Committee and they registered a case in the Police station. Actions where taken by the police and the accuser was arrested under section 376 (2) (I), 363 of IPC and Section 6 r/w 5(m), 4 r/w 3(a) of POCSO Act. Now the child has recovered from the trauma and is attending school regularly. A single call to the CHILDLINE changed her life.
