Chinna’s life has been changed forever and he is grateful for the assistance from Don Bosco Sneha Bhavan Annexe. It not only ended his cycle of homelessness, but also helped him to build a family.
Meet Chinna who entered our Sneha Bhavan Annexe when he was 18 years old with just one pair of cloth. He used to sell newspapers in the evenings to find a living. A homeless person like Chinna was unable to find a place to stay with minimal cost. A friend of him suggested about the facility of this night shelter run by Don Bosco, where he has to pay Rs. 5 per night for accomadation, and he found it very cheap compared to other facilities in the city of Cochin.

He enjoys the company of like-minded people around him. He mentioned that in Don Bosco’s night shelter everyone goes for work, this motivated him to go for work every day without fail.

He stayed in this facility for past 18 years and in 2018, he was married and moved with his wife to a rented house. Chinna is now working as a supervisor in a leading Bakery unit in Cochin. “I never imagined this outcome when I arrived at the shelter. The staff not only helped me to end my cycle of poverty and homelessness but they helped me to find a life partner and build hope in my life”.
