A girl and her mother lived on the streets near the metro railway station. The family hailed from Bangalore with no roots in Cochin. CHILDLINE received information that the girl was having mutiple wounds on her body and her mother was paying scant attention towards it, due to her superstitious belief that it is a curse from God. CHILDLINE rescued the mother and the child and admitted them in Kalamassery Medical College for advanced treatment. After 5 days of treatment, the girl was dischargeed from the hospital. They were provided shelter at Ammaveedu Sishubhavan at Karukutty. Now the child is attending her school from there.
