A team of labour department, railway protection force, and CHILDLINE Kochi rescued 27 children from Aluva Railway station on 12th June 2019. Some agents brought the children here for work. The children were between 11-15 years of age.
Of the 27 rescued children, 20 hailed from West Bengal and 7 from Jharkhand. They were been lodged in Snehakoodu, Emmanuel orphanage, Azhakam and Don Bosco Boys Home, Palluruthy as per the Child Welfare Committee order. After completing the legal formalities, the children were sent back to their respective states for rehabiltation. The timely intervention of CHILDLINE Kochi saved the children from the abuse.
