The training was inaugurated by Fr. Thomas P.D (Executive Director, Don Bosco Welfare Center Society) on 12th of September 2020. About twenty senior boys of Don Bosco Boys Home participated in the mushroom cultivation training. This training was supported by IBS software solutions

The children were taught to cultivate two different species of mushroom ie.,

1.Oyster mushroom

The children were given training in preparing the beds to grow oyster mushroom. The procedure in cultivating this kind of mushroom was explained to them by the trainer.

2. Milky Mushroom

The cultivation of milky mushroom is entirely different from that of oyster mushroom. The children were made aware about the difference in cultivation methods.

Bharathan one of the inmates said that the day they soaked the paddy, boiled them, packed the paddy into bags every activity they did as a group he found as a little thing, which made him happy. When he saw sprouts in the beds of mushroom he realized that he and his friends had done a great job and considered it a great achievement.
