On Sep. 28 we had a very simple yet solemn function at Don Bosco, Palluruthy, with no VIPs being present, to offer educational help to 21 high school students representing 7 schools in Palluruthy. They were given Rs.1000 each as a token of our solidarity with children who excel in studies and want to continue their education with poverty as a hurdle!

All the children were accompanied by their parents. The function started as scheduled at 5.30 p.m. and ended at 6.20 p.m. Fr. Joe Fernandez, the executive director and Fr. Deepu Palathingal , administrator and Bro.Nibin Mathews organized the event .

Present were Mrs. Kochuthressia, coordinator of Salesian Coordinators and Mr. Ramesh and Mr. Jayaprakash representing the two neighbouring Residents Welfare Associations. The programme ended with Mr. Bhatt speaking on behalf of the recipients.

Reaching out to the neighbourhood is part of our being human. For Jesus anyone in need is a neighbor. Such a definition does not define boundaries! We believe in sharing!
